Demo Venue – Demo Event
Effective date: 20 September 2025
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By registering for the Demo Event ("Event") hosted by Demo Venue ("Organiser"), you ("Participant") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree, do not complete your registration.
2. ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Participants must be 16 years of age or older on the date of the Event.
2.2 Participants under 18 must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian before competing.
2.3 By registering, you confirm that you are medically fit to participate in high-intensity functional fitness activities.
3. REGISTRATION & ENTRY FEES
3.1 Entry fees are non-refundable unless the Event is cancelled by the Organiser.
3.2 Entries may be transferred to another eligible participant up to 7 days before the Event by contacting the Organiser in writing.
3.3 The Organiser reserves the right to decline or cancel any registration at its discretion.
4. EVENT FORMAT & RULES
4.1 The Event follows the standard Hyrox Performance & Fitness Testing format as communicated by the Organiser prior to the Event.
4.2 All Participants must comply with the instructions of event officials, marshals, and medical staff at all times.
4.3 The use of performance-enhancing substances prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code is strictly forbidden.
4.4 Unsportsmanlike conduct, including aggressive behaviour toward other Participants or staff, may result in immediate disqualification.
5. HEAT ASSIGNMENTS & BIB NUMBERS
5.1 Heat assignments and bib numbers are allocated by the Organiser and are non-transferable.
5.2 Participants must wear their allocated bib number visibly at all times during the Event.
5.3 Late arrivals may forfeit their heat slot at the Organiser's discretion.
6. RESULTS & SCORING
6.1 Results are recorded by official timekeepers and are final unless a formal objection is lodged within 30 minutes of the Participant's finish time.
6.2 Results, including Participant names and finish times, will be published publicly on the Hyrox PFT platform.
6.3 By entering, you consent to the public disclosure of your results.
7. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA
The Organiser and its authorised partners may photograph and film the Event. By participating, you grant the Organiser a royalty-free licence to use your image and likeness in Event-related promotional material.
8. CANCELLATION & POSTPONEMENT
8.1 In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the Organiser's control (including severe weather, government restrictions, or force majeure), entry fees will not be automatically refunded but may be credited toward a rescheduled event.
8.2 The Organiser will notify Participants as soon as reasonably possible of any cancellation or postponement.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, or death suffered by a Participant in connection with the Event, except where caused by the Organiser's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.

v1INDEMNITY & WAIVER OF LIABILITY

PLEASE READ THIS WAIVER CAREFULLY BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR REGISTRATION.
I, the undersigned Participant, acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. NATURE OF ACTIVITY
I understand that the Demo Event involves high-intensity physical exercise, including but not limited to running, rowing, sled pushing and pulling, burpee broad jumps, wall balls, sandbag lunges, and kettlebell carries. These activities carry inherent risks of physical injury, including muscle strains, joint injuries, cardiovascular stress, and in extreme cases, serious injury or death.
2. VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION
I confirm that my participation in the Event is entirely voluntary. I am aware of the risks involved and choose to participate of my own free will.
3. MEDICAL FITNESS
I declare that I am in good physical health and am not aware of any medical condition, injury, or disability that would prevent me from safely participating in the Event. I have consulted, or have had the opportunity to consult, a qualified medical practitioner before registering.
4. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in the Event, whether or not such risks arise from the negligence of Demo Venue, its directors, employees, volunteers, officials, or agents ("Released Parties").
5. INDEMNITY & RELEASE
5.1 In consideration of being permitted to participate, I hereby release and indemnify the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, actions, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including legal costs) arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the Event.
5.2 This indemnity includes claims arising from the negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
5.3 This release does not apply to claims arising from the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Released Parties.
6. EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT
In the event of an emergency, I authorise the Released Parties and medical personnel present at the Event to arrange or administer such emergency medical treatment as they consider appropriate. I accept responsibility for any costs associated with such treatment.
7. MINORS
If the Participant is under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they have read this Waiver, understand its contents, and consent to the Participant's participation on these terms.
8. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By completing registration for the Demo Event, I confirm that:
- I have read and understood this Waiver in full.
- I agree to be bound by its terms.
- I am 16 years of age or older, or have obtained written parental consent.
- I have not been induced to sign this Waiver by any representation not contained herein.
This Waiver is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
